The Collies of Hawk's Flight Farm
Arabians are not the only passion we have here at Hawk's Flight Farm - we adore our Rough Collies too! Growing up with the classics of "Lassie Come Home" - the book and the movie with Elizabeth Taylor and the rest of an incredible cast, and then the TV series - I just gravitated to the Rough Collie as a breed I wanted to experience. It wasn't until I lost my last Shetland sheepdog, that I started to look for the "old-fashioned" Lassie look - great bone and well-shaped head, fancy movement - (sounds like I am talking about Arabians, I know!) and thanks to the Internet and a lot of conversations, I found the collies of my dreams.
Many thanks to Suzanne Berggren of Nightwind Collies for bringing "Gabriel" to Florida from Pennsylvania. Many thanks to Barb Linder of Donnybrooke Collies for breeding him!
And thanks to Mike Cheatham of Southland Collies for allowing "Palin" - Southland's Teaparty at the Ritz" - to share her life with us! We look forward to a yard full of collie puppies soon!
